Meet Brittney Seal of The Plant Based Spectrum

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittney Seal.

Brittney, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
It started almost two years ago, with a diagnosis of Autism. My son was diagnosed at 21 months old. Being a Wife, Mother, and Photographer I chose to put photography down and focus on my son and our journey as a diagnosed family. I dedicated the next year to become a Holistic Health Coach where I gained the knowledge to aid my family through this journey.

This turned from a learning process to a passion, lighting a fire within me to help the individuals and families affected by Autism. I have submerged myself within the Autism Community to raise awareness and acceptance. Through this process of evolving into the advocate, I am today, I also wrote a Children’s Book “All the Cool Kids are Eating Right”. A collection of the coolest kids eating the coolest foods.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Smooth, can you define that? I only joke. There is no road that will be smooth unless you continuously work hard to pave it correctly. In my situation, I left my career to support our family and felt this would make everything better.

This does not mean it did not become worse before it got better. It did, One income played a part and the lack of support played the other. I became a full-time stay at home mom and a full-time student. There were times when I wanted to cry and other times where I had the chance to hear my son’s first sentence. All worth it.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about The Plant Based Spectrum – what should we know?
At The Plant Based Spectrum, I practice a Holistic approach to health and wellness, which means that I look at how all areas of your life are connected. Does stress at your job or in your relationship(s) cause you to overeat? Does lack of sleep or low energy prevent you from exercising? As we work together, we will look at how all parts of your life affect your health as a whole.

I work with my clients to get in touch with their body’s needs because I understand that life happens and your needs will change. I equip you with the self-awareness to make the best decisions for yourself in any given circumstance. I believe each person is fully capable of making well-informed decisions as their own expert, not the latest magazine article or fad diet book.

I define what you value most from your well-being. We’ll use these visions to motivate specific goals that bring you closer to where you want to be. I will not dictate a diet for you, but together we will explore why some foods make you feel better than others and how to strategically use that feedback. Together we’ll co-create your health goals within reasonable time frames and actionable objectives so you know exactly what you’re working toward.

I also work with families affected by Autism. I work with Behavioral, Emotional and Sensory Disorders to aid families in overcoming obstacles that come with this diagnosis. Being that my son has Autism I feel that I contain a sense of understanding and support which allows these families to be open with future goals.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
There is only one characteristic I can think of when it comes to this endeavor, passion. I am so passionate about helping others that it makes my job so easy. I flow with the ability to unravel the best person inside everyone and take pride in knowing life changes are possible.
