Meet Bryan Barnes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bryan Barnes.

Hi Bryan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I’ve always loved drawing since a very early age. I grew up drawing realistic pencil art of movie characters and NBA players, that inspired me. In high school, I played basketball and grew to 6’8. I loved playing the game and rising above the rim doing athletic dunks! After receiving a college basketball scholarship, I continued to pursue my passion of art, creativity, and design. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design.

I began my professional career as a Senior Graphic Artist designing for The Walt Disney Company. I designed for the iconic Disney·Pixar Toy Story and Marvel Spider-Man entertainment franchises.

Today, I work as an Art Director for major film studios and leading global brands designing world-class 360 marketing campaigns, engaging social content, advertising, and high-profile entertainment events.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I believe obstacles and challenges are simply a part of life, both professionally and personally. Positive visualization, a passion to create top-tier innovative design work, visual leadership, pushing creative boundaries, timeless strength, relentless drive, and effective daily life habits have all played important roles in my success.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m an Art Director with creative art direction and design experience for major film studios, iconic entertainment franchises, integrated agencies, and leading global brands. I’ve created for The Walt Disney Company, Marvel, FOX The Simpsons, FOX Teen Choice Awards, FOX Sports, Marvel Studios Iron Man 3, The Amazing Spider-Man, and luxury audiophile brand Marantz.

I’m honored to have A-List celebrities such as Zendaya, Kourtney Kardashian, Robert Downey Jr., Millie Bobby Brown, Sandra Bullock, Daniel Radcliffe, and Andrew Garfield cover my creative work.

Outside of my Art Director and design career, I’m a Fine Artist specializing in luxury fashion detailed pencil drawings and 3D realistic portrait digital art.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I’ve learned that creativity, innovation, and resilience can come to light from crisis.
