Meet Caitlin Pannese

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caitlin Pannese.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Caitlin. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been a Rush Cycle client since 2012. As a college athlete, I was looking for a group fitness class that would challenge me both mentally and physically in the same way that collegiate level tennis had. I finally found that at Rush Cycle and started riding several times each week.

When I sold another business a couple of years ago, I began thinking about what my next career move would be. I was still a Rush Cycle client at the time, and the company had just started franchising. As I considered other job options, I kept coming back to Rush Cycle. I knew I had the business experience to open a successful studio, and I was passionate about the company and loved the workout. After months of thinking about it, I finally made the step and became a franchisee.

The road to open the San Marcos studio was a long one, but we finally opened in December 2018. Today, less than a year later, our studio has already made a huge impact on San Marcos and the surrounding areas. My amazing team of instructors and staff have been so supportive and have helped build our community even before our doors opened to the public. Our clients are the best around, and their smiles both in and out of the studio are a constant reminder of why I do what I do. And it also helps to have a supportive family – my husband and kids have all stepped up to help out in any way they can, including making sure I have coffee when I leave for work at 4 am!

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No road is completely smooth, especially the road to opening a new business! Our struggles were similar to what most new businesses experience delays with permits, construction, deliveries, etc. Now that all of those challenges have been overcome, we’re able to focus on the business itself and making sure our clients have the best experience when they walk in our doors.

Please tell us about your business.
Rush Cycle is an indoor cycling studio franchise, with locations nationwide. We believe that fitness should be fun, inspiring, and create positive change in the community. Our indoor cycling classes are a 45 minute workout that is both effective and fun. Once the lights dim down and the music turns up, you will know that it’s time for a party on a bike.

Our #RushFam and community focus sets us apart from other boutique fitness studios. In the past year, my team and I have been building an amazing community at Rush Cycle San Marcos where our riders, instructors, and front desk team all support one another both in and out of the studio. We celebrate the highs together (milestones, birthdays, new jobs) and bring each other back up from the lows (illness, loss). I’m immensely proud of how our team and clients interact and have created this community together. Anyone can walk into the studio, whether it’s their first time taking a cycling class or their 100th, and feel welcomed and included. As the studio owner, it’s really rewarding to be able to witness, firsthand, how our community has come together in a relatively short amount of time.

Our amazing instructors differentiate us from other indoor cycling studios. Rush Cycle’s proprietary instructor training program guarantees that our studio is staffed with elite talent who push our clients to do their best in every single class.

Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I grew up playing tennis competitively, including during college at a Division 1 school. My favorite memories from my childhood relate to tennis – practicing, playing tournaments (the ones that I won stand out the most 😉 ), and my experiences playing with my college team. Some of my closest friendships as a child were made on the tennis court. The work ethic I learned through playing competitive sports has helped me throughout my life, including this latest venture of opening a Rush Cycle studio.
