Dainty Dessert started out as a dream – growing up in Brazil, an event wouldn’t be complete without an elaborate artesian sweet table! Decorated with lavish brigadeiro, custom cakes, cupcakes and truffles. Once I moved to San Diego, I noticed a trend of store-bought sweets that did not capture the events in the same way as Brazil. I wanted to bring fancy Brazilian style sweets tables to San Diego events. Dainty Dessert was started so that I could fulfill this dream, and create Brazilian sweets at an affordable price.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Lol – in business, there’s never a smooth road! Luckily the creative side of my business motivates me through the challenging aspects. The number one challenge is balancing those unexpected bumps in the road – when my personal life requires my attention when I’m slammed with several orders for example. Another challenge is acquiring customers out of my circle of friends and family. With a huge Brazilian population here in San Diego, most of my orders are from them – but I have been pushing to acquire more American clients. With Dainty being a Brazilian business bringing the traditions of my home country here to America – there’s some user education that needs to be done – my goal is to highlight how much a Brazilian Sweets Table can bring to an event.

Dainty Dessert is all about bringing unique flavors paired with creative designs to your event!
We specialize in Brigadeiro – a Brazilian style truffle. We also have been working hard on launching our new “Dainty Jars,” which are mini versions of our cakes stuffed into mason jars – we are excited because these are easily ship-able nationwide. I’m most proud of the success of Dainty Dessert – I always say it was just a dream, and now to see my clients write great reviews, reorder, etc. – it makes me a proud business owner!
The biggest differentiator is our prices – I pride myself on the thrifty prices compared to the industry. We don’t want the price to keep you from having an awesome event.
What were you like growing up?
First things first, don’t ever grow up! I’ve always had good luck! Growing up in Brazil, I once entered a raffle at our local shopping mall – I ended up winning the grand prize – a new car! Since then, I’ve continued to have good luck and try to keep a positive attitude.
I have had a passion for cooking since a kid. My dad was (and still is!) always cooking and he would let me join him in the kitchen. My two older sisters 👯♀️ are very close to me and have always chased their dreams too. They’ve always been my best friends and always will be – we seem to talk more and more each week, even living in different countries. Gotta love WhatsApp! 😃
