Meet Carol Hanselman of Joy Wellness Partners

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carol Hanselman.

Carol is the founder and lead medical provider of Joy Wellness Partners. She specializes in regenerative medicine and hormone balancing.

In 2009, Carol graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and School of Nursing, earning dual Bachelor’s Degrees of Science in Economics and Nursing. Following her completion of her undergraduate degrees, Carol co-founded LifeNet International (LN), a social enterprise that created a sustainable network of franchised healthcare clinics in Burundi, Africa.

From 2009 to 2011, Carol developed her clinical skills working as an Emergency Room and Cardiac nurse at the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro (UMCPP) in Princeton, NJ. In 2011, Carol returned to Burundi to serve as the Medical Director of LifeNet International (LN), expanding the LN network to partnerships with 40 local medical clinics and hospitals in Burundi.

In 2013, Carol completed her Master’s of Science in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing and became board-certified as a Nurse Practitioner, specializing in Adult-Gerontology Acute Care.

Following this, Carol practiced as a Nurse Practitioner rotating in the Emergency Departments of Hemet Valley Medical Center, Victor Valley Global Medical Center, and Menifee Valley Medical Center in Hemet, CA. Since 2014, Carol has worked as a Nurse Practitioner in the Temecula Valley Hospital Emergency Department. She also worked at a regenerative medicine clinic in Temecula, CA. . With her work at TVAM, Carol was able to experience first-hand the powerful, life-changing results of regenerative medicine. In 2016, Carol founded JWP with the vision of making high-quality personalized medicine available to more people in the greater San Diego area.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Overall, the road has been smooth. As I am only 4 years out of NP school, the ownership of my own practice has come quickly.

The greatest struggle has been the California requirement of having a supervising physician in order to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in an independent clinic.

We’d love to hear more about your business.

What were you like growing up?
I was an adventurous child, spending nearly a year of my life with my family in the Philippines as a 5 year old. Since being homeschooled in elementary school, I was very creative, spending as much time as possible in the outdoors of Pennsylvania. As the oldest child of 6 siblings, I was often creating entrepreneurial projects, from strawberry stands to lemonade and cookie stands, to knitting sets of hats, scarves, gloves and booties that I would sell as Christmas presents for my friends American Girls’ dolls.

My siblings and I were very active, with weekly family hikes, and we all played soccer, and I also played tennis in high school. Because my parents grew up as missionary kids in Asia, I was interested in foreign language and culture, eating rice and curry for dinner, and I learned a little Japanese as a child and Spanish in high school. My friends and I loved traveling to NYC for the weekend, and the NJ shore all summer long. I never dreamed I would be living in Southern California, a mile from the beach, owning my own business, when I grew up.

    Good Morning,

My friend Grady Hanshaw had a stem cell completed on his knees. My sister
has issue with her hand and did have surgery on the one but I am more incline
to your wrote if something can be done. Her range of motion has diminished
and at time can’t seem to open her hand.

I look forward to some feedback.
