Meet Carolynne Eng McBride of Bella Glo Medical Aesthetics & Wellness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Carolynne Eng McBride.

Carolynne, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My story was full of ups and downs, but when I got to the peaking point it was well worth it, and I wouldn’t change any of the obstacles I had to overcome.

It all started with nursing school. A huge challenge and one of the biggest accomplishments in my entire life. I was fresh out of high school and my mother always told me to make something of myself. She constantly reminded me I could do anything I put my mind to. After achieving my RN BSN I was only 25 years old and I had the whole world right in front of me. I could do anything I wanted. I chose to become an Aesthetic RN. Aesthetics was up and coming and I got into it at the perfect time! Who knew that only five years after completing nursing school I would be operating a medical spa entirely on my own, and of course with the help of my overlooking physician (medical director).

I am a cosmetic nurse injector, I am a master injector- certified by Allergan, I sculpt and contour faces and make wrinkles disappear. I am proud to say I am an Aesthetics Nurse. This is a talent, and I am so proud to do what I do. It feels so good to make people feel beautiful. This is the fountain of youth, there’s nothing better than aesthetics except for plastic surgery. Together in conjunction, they work miracles. I am so happy and proud of my business and creating a brand that already has a huge following all over San Diego County. I feel extremely blessed. Bella Glo Medical Aesthetics & Wellness is one of the most popular med spas in San Diego County and people come from all over to get their Botox/Fillers/PRP/micro-needling fix. There’s definitely a big “buzz” going on about this exclusive clinic. I love what I do and I want to keep making people feel beautiful! My business is just 1.5 years old and it has come so incredibly far. I’m excited to see what the future holds.

Has it been a smooth road?
Some struggles were nursing school because it was so very competitive. It was truly survival of the fittest and only some of us made it out with a BSN RN. Another struggle was giving up my hourly aesthetics job to becoming self-employed. It was a huge risk. I asked myself over and over if I could make it? Could I create a brand big enough so that people want to get services done by me? Could I start a big “buzz” that everyone’s talking about?Would I have enough clientele to withstand my business and keep it alive? The answer was YES!!! Eventually, I did the switch and it was the best decision I ever made.

Some other struggles were getting all the appropriate training done. I wanted to make sure I had some of best skill in San Diego so that I retained all my clients and did the best job! It’s important to me to be an overachiever and give my clients the best and most safest results in town. All in all, it was a challenge to build this empire and keep it going. Im still building it, and looking to expand and open a second location by 2020. There’s never ending learning in this industry and I’m just taking it all in one day at a time. I’m sure I will encounter other struggles but I’m excited to keep this business going and be the best RN and business owner I can be.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
My business is a medical spa and I am a cosmetic nurse injector. I specialize in Botox, fillers, microtox infusion therapy, mesobotox, PRP, micro-needling, plasma pen and PDO thread lifts. I even have my own “Bella Glo Medical Aesthetics & Wellness” skin care line. I am known for sculpting and contouring faces and most importantly my signature service is lip injections. I am proud to say that I have taken advanced courses and trainings to better my injecting skills and practice very safely. Safety is number one to me! I’m proud to say I follow specific protocols and procedures designed by my overlooking physician and myself. Together we have created a safe environment for our patients. What really sets me apart from other Med spas is the name and brand I have created. Bella Glo Medical Aesthetics & Wellness is an exclusive Med Spa where people can go and get a customized treatment plan. My Medical Spa is not just some spa in San Diego. Bella Glo Medical Aesthetics & Wellness has turned into a Brand. It’s a place where woman can go to feel beautiful and feel like they can pause the clock on aging. Each individual plan is unique and different, and they receive the best services in town! The name of my clinic is unique and it stands out from all other Med spas in San Diego county. I mean who wouldn’t want to go to a place called “Bella Glo Medical Aesthetics & Wellness”? 💗

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Yes, Med spas are a great business in general. Bella Glo Medical Aesthetics & Wellness would be great in any county. I think Los Angeles would have more competition than SD county . My little city is smaller and I’m the only medical spa in Carlsbad/Carlsbad village. Overall, building a Med Spa anywhere would be a success…. it just depends how far you can go and how big of a name you can create for yourself. I went above and beyond by creating this brand that woman love and have become obsessed with.
