Today we’d like to introduce you to Carrie Everts.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Carrie. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I have been coordinating events for the past 20 years. The events included baby showers, birthday parties, community outreach events, golf tournaments, and so much more. I just really enjoy all the details, creativity, and being able to help people see ideas come to life. One day friends came to me and asked me to be their wedding coordinator.
At the time, this was one event I had not coordinated yet. I agreed to do it though and immediately enrolled in a Wedding Planning certificate program. I completed the program and started doing my own research. I read articles, watched videos, studied other wedding coordinators when I attended weddings, and I even watched Hallmark movies. I have picked up a few great ideas from those movies. I began planning our friend’s wedding and I enjoyed every step. This is when I decided to create Everts Events. I have now been in business for three years and continues to grow.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It has definitely been a learning curve. I have been blessed with amazing clients to work with. My clients are all amazing people with beautiful stories. All events have challenges. I have always gone into an event expecting things to go wrong. I know that sounds sad, but what it does is prepare me to have answers. When those hiccups happen, I am able to find instant solutions so my clients have nothing to worry about. After every event, I ask myself what I could have done better. I continue to improve myself so I can be the best for my clients.
Everts Events – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Everts Events coordinate weddings and special events. We are most known for wedding planning; however, we are stretching our wings to take on other Special Events. My goal is to ensure my clients enjoy their special event stress-free. I make it a point to understand who my clients are so that what they want is what they get. Their event represents who they are. I would say what sets Everts Events apart is that we go the extra mile. Although I am typically hired as a day-of coordinator, I make it a point to still meet a few times with my clients, go over all the details so I understand what their vision is, and ensure they have not forgotten anything important. I am with them every step and not just on the day of their event.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
I am only successful if my clients are happy with their event. It is as simple as that.
Pricing:
- $2000 for a basic wedding coordinator
- $750 for a day of coordinator
