Carter, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Treeline began as a small web development shop in Lake Tahoe area around 2004. In 2006-7 the team moved to Sunny San Diego and set up shop at our current location 3725 Mission Blvd. At Treeline, we’ve always prided ourselves in being builders who leverage the latest concepts, tools and platforms. Early on in San Diego, the team built some of the first native mobile apps for both iOS and Android.
Building on the things learned with the iOS app store and native mobile development we’ve continued to push into new and emerging technologies in the following ten years, leveraging the latest in location, BLE, and iOT. This has taught us a lot about building projects and help to make both startups and large businesses successful. We’ve strived to stay small and agile, moving quickly to tackle big problems with elegant solutions. This is all only possible with the team of people on staff whose passion for building tinkering and getting things done, has led to all our success.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Finding great people is always a struggle but our culture and values have helped us navigate that path and find talent alongside quality human beings. Part of this culture is derived from our decision to stay in Mission Beach and expanding upon our original one-room footprint into a 3 story building. Renovating and improving our location has been a challenge but it’s also allowed us to remain who we are.

We specialize in building technology projects quickly and efficiently. These projects can range from a simple website to a complex hardware prototype with software supporting it. We’ve taken these products and ideas from concept to market and scaled.
