Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey Evans.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Casey. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was a runner in high school and then I attended CSUSM in San Marcos and ran there as well. After college, I knew that I wanted to continue to work with runners and give back to the community that has given so much to me. I began working at the Running Center (located in Carlsbad, Temecula, and Redlands) to hone my skills. Through the Running Center, I was able to work with Brooks during the San Diego Rock n Roll Marathon Series and eventually land a full-time job working for Brooks.
Has it been a smooth road?
I wouldn’t say that it was a bumpy road, but it definitely took a lot longer than expected. After graduating college at CSUSM and assistant coaching there with the cross country and tracks teams I thought that it would be a year or two max until I landed my dream job… it took five years!
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Brooks Running – tell our readers more, for example what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
Brooks is a running-specific company that makes running shoes and apparel. They are currently the number one running shoe brand in the USA. We specialize in making distraction-free running shoes that are not only comfortable but also help you biomechanically!
I’m most proud of this company because they are inclusive to every runner and they stress the importance of how “a run can change a day, a life, the world” and doing this all while being environmentally friendly.
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love how you get big city vibes, but in a much more laid back atmosphere. The people here are happy, healthy, and welcoming. The thing I like least about America’s Finest City is that there isn’t more free parking lol.
