Today we’d like to introduce you to Shauna Johnson.
Shauna, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
As a mother of three, the sun rose and set around my children and their needs. I was dedicated to being a mom and wife first and foremost. As my children were getting older however, my husband began traveling long periods of time for work. I decided that it was time to start “filling my cup” again. While being mom and wife was still the most important title I could have been given, I knew it wasn’t the only thing that defined me. I wanted to follow my passion and do what empowered me again. I decided to go back to school for interior design and haven’t looked back since. I love doing what I do. Work doesn’t feel like work when you are passionate about what it is you are doing. When my client’s eyes light up and they tell me how much they love their home, my cup runs over. I love taking a space and giving it life. My job in not complete until each client tells me their home feels like their own kind of paradise.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
With every job I tackle, there are speed bumps and challenges along the way. Being forced to think outside the design box and find creative solutions is what tests me and is part of the fun.
Chateau Decor – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Chateau Decor specializes in home styling and design. Our services range from complete home styling designs to staging houses that are getting ready to be placed on the market.
Our home stylists provide each client with a concept design prior to the start of the project. This gives us and our clients a clear direction that allows the project to grow and evolve. While these design concepts often change throughout, it allows us a focused path and gives our clients a peek into the designers’ minds.
What sets us apart from others is the passion in which we apply our creativity and our commitment to each project. Remodeling can feel overwhelming and stressful to most, but we make it our mission to take the stresses away from our clients. We narrow down the design choices but still allow each client to be as involved or removed from the design process as they would like to be. Through our passion for the art of design, we make our clients dream home come to life.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
To me, success is defined by how authentically I allow myself to live my life. By allowing myself to invest in me, I lead a priceless example for my children. When the people around me are happy and successful, I feel success.
