Meet Christina Fischer

Today we’d like to introduce you to Christina Fischer.

Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Photography was never something I saw myself doing because I never had any passion for the arts at all. It wasn’t until my junior year of high school that I started off photographing all the sports teams at my high school for the yearbook. I found that because of my passion for live sports mixed with being able to be on the field photography was something I could definitely wrap my head around. I discovered that I had an eye for sports photography and happened to be really good at it and decided to start my own business. I opened up C Fischer Photography in 2015 and primarily took photos of different sports teams throughout San Diego. After taking some online photo classes, I brushed up on some skills and started focusing on people of all ages and events. To this day there isn’t really anything I won’t photograph!

Please tell us about your art.
It sounds extremely cliche, but I like to tell a story through my photos. Every single one of my photoshoots tells an important and meaningful story for each one of my clients. Photography is something that has helped me overcome and work on my severe anxiety disorder; therefore it is something that is very near and dear to my heart. One of the main reasons I love photography is seeing how happy people get after receiving photos of them and their loved ones, I have even had people cry after seeing photos of their beautiful newborn. I hope people can see the passion and genuine love that I have for photography through my photos.

What do you think about conditions for artists today? Has life become easier or harder for artists in recent years? What can cities like ours do to encourage and help art and artists thrive?
I would have to say life has become both easy and hard for artists these days due to various reasons. I would say it is a lot easier for artists to advertise and show off their work through social media. It is such a great easy and free way to get yourself exposed and have people all over be able to see and appreciate your work. I would also say that because of social media it has become harder for artists in recent years since EVERYONE thinks they are an artist and everyone can show off through social media. There is definitely a plethora of artist these days. I think cities can host some type of day once or twice a month where artists can come and display and talk about their work so that people can see a face to their pieces and get their name and brand out in the community.

How or where can people see your work? How can people support your work?
People can see my work on my facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Cfischerphotography or on my Instagram: @cfischerphotography

People can support me by liking and commenting on my photos and sharing my work with others! Word of mouth is how I get most of my clients, plus its free advertising! 🙂
