
Today we’d like to introduce you to Chucky Currie.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Chucky. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I began training in the martial arts in 1966 while living in Chicago’s China Town. I received my first black belt at ten years old. I began performing publicly at age 12 to the song Kung Fu Fighting. I was already a Bruce Lee fan. I began competing in tournaments at the age of 14. I won my first World Take Kwon Do Championship at 16. Chuck Norris named me the new Bruce Lee. I have won World Martial Arts Championship titles in Fighting, Forms and Weapons. I was the first to perform creative musical forms on the National Martial Arts Tournament Circuit. I am a professional actor, director, producer. I have worked in major movies, including Rush Hour 2, Oceans 11, Twisted, XxX State of the Union. I produced and co-directed as well as starred in Enter The Tiger, winner of the International Action On Film Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, It has been a lot of work, competition is fierce! There are no short cuts to success! No struggle, No success!

Chuckido Action Media is my personal company. I direct producer and star in my own short movies and a YouTube channel under my name Chucky Currie. The Ninja News is also a crowd favorite!
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Winning The Grand Championship at the USA Top Ten Nationals! Working with most of my favorite actors, including Richard Pryor, Prince, Halle Berry, Ice Cube, Jackie Chan, Chris Tucker, Brad Pitt, Danny Glover, Andy Garcia and Ashely Judd.
