Meet Codie Andreas of Wildflower Hair Studio in North park

Today we’d like to introduce you to Codie Andreas.

Codie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve always wanted to do hair. I started fairly young, I went to the Paul Mitchell school in Fresno CA right out of high school. Became licensed shortly after and started working at a small salon in my hometown.

About two years into my career, I decided it was time to move to a bigger city and ended up here in San Diego. I took whatever jobs I could until I landed a great job at an Aveda salon. Looking back now, I owe a lot of my skill to Aveda and the ladies I worked with there.

After a couple of years, I decided to take a leap of faith and open up my own studio which had always been a dream of mine.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I moved to San Diego with about $300 in my pocket, I knew maybe two people and basically had to start my career over. Starting over and Building a clientele in a new city was intimidating but I knew this is where I wanted to be, so I made it work.

I struggled financially for a little while, often having more than one job and working six-seven days a week. I took whatever classes I could and learned as much as possible. Honestly, I have been very blessed in my journey.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Wildflower hair studio – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
My business, Wildflower Hair Studio is located in North Park in the Rockefeller Beauty Center. I specialize in hair color. Mostly balayage/ombre styles.

I think what sets wildflower apart is the one on one experience clients gets. Sometimes it’s nice to skip the hustle and bustle of a busy salon and have a more relaxed appointment.

On top of quality customized work, I want everyone to feel like family when they come in, and that’s one of the things I’m the most proud of.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
I have so many ideas and goals I’ve set for myself. I would love to expand, take on assistants and help new stylists get their foot in the door and gain experience.

For now, though I’m enjoying where I am. Trying to take it day by day and appreciate everything I already have.
