Today we’d like to introduce you to Crissy Reyes.
Crissy, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always been into fashion since I was a little girl. I would like to thank my grandmother and my mother for that. My grandmother would take me to the mall almost every day, I say I got the fashion blood from her, who passed down to my mother, and then was passed on to me. I remember my creative side came out first in Art which I loved to draw dolls with cool outfits and then I would play with Barbies but what I remember my favorite part about playing Barbies was organizing and making outfits with their clothes so I can say I always had some fashion styling in me without noticing. I went to high school and I always had to have the perfect outfit and get complimented a lot on them and around that time I swore I wanted to model and just take pictures in cool outfits. I would tell people I want to be a fashion model but being a short petite girl, I knew that’s something I probably wasn’t able to do, but I knew I wanted to pursue a career in fashion. I will also admit around this time the reality show The Hills premiered and of course Lauren Conrad became one of my idols. I attended community college for my GED for two years and then ended up in a private fashion school in San Diego. Two years later, I received my associates in Fashion Business and Technology, after I got my first job at Nordstrom, my fashion taste changed so much and made me fall more in love with fashion. Since it was a part time job and Instagram started to get trendy, my blogging started and well life happened and just stop. I got to a point in my life where I lost my confidence and lost myself for a while where it all stopped. About a year later I started my new job at the Nordstrom Rack and started school again at The Art Institute of California-San Diego, to keep getting my education in Fashion and receive my BA in Fashion Marketing and Management. After graduating from the Art Institute and having more time on my hands and having all the learning experience, it got me into social media marketing which I thought it would be a great way to start with my own Instagram page that has to do with fashion and marketing myself with different styles of outfits. For a long time, I can remember I wanted to be a model and since Instagram has no limits as if you’re tall, short, plus size or super skinny you can “model” all you want. To which leads me to here where I started c_miiestilo and just sharing my creative mind through fashion. I don’t have a particular style I just make outfits through my mind and put them on and take a photo and I’m just having fun with it and hoping I can give others an idea on styling and being creative with fashion.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As I mentioned before it’s been a struggle with my confidence within myself to being able to put myself out there to the world. I was the shy, quiet girl, I was the type of person where people had to talk to me first but with school and work it help me break out of my shell. Turning my Instagram page into a fashion “blog” and actually get myself out there and talk to strangers and dedicate my time to it has been a challenge and getting content for it but I know my passion is there and will get to where I want to be.
My mind is so creative that I feel like it should be used in some way and what better way than in fashion! This can be just a hobby which I’m totally okay with or a career I’m okay with both.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with c_miiestilo – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
I decided to create my Instagram page c_miiestilo into a blogging business in order to show my creativity through fashion. I love to style clothes and just being creative with my clothes, shoes, and accessories. My main goal is to have fun and being creative, being able to market myself through my Instagram and being able to influence others with their style and creativity towards fashion. My goal is to share my finds in the stores I shop at and showing off the great deals I get on my clothing. Not only am I sharing fashion creativity but also sharing a little of my life because I just want to be real with my audience and make sure they know I’m a real person and I’m pretty much the same as them. I’m a big-time family girl, I have a fiancé and planning a wedding that I also plan on sharing that journey with my audience and just sharing all the fun things I do in my life that includes a lot of ootds and selfies! I’m not specialize in anything specific just like I mention I’m just sharing my creativity through fashion and showing off my styling techniques. I’m mostly proud of breaking out of my shell and going for it and took the first step into posting my first Instagram post about my outfit. I’m still growing my page and learning different ways to make my page look more better and professional. The important thing to me is keeping it fun, creative, and fashionable.
Fun Fact: c_miiestilo is my first initial of my name “Crissy,” and miiestilo means “my style,” in Spanish.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My plans with c_miiestilo is to have it grow even more and become an influencer. I want to have fun with it and make it a fun business. I mean who wouldn’t want to take pictures and talk about fashion, I know I do. My goal is to just have fun and share my style to the world and meet new people, people who have the same interest as me, and just see where it takes me. I do further down the line go into talking about beauty products more having more fun content and maybe meet other local influencers. One of my future goals is to work for a brand or even have my own brand, that would be a dream come true. For now, I’m just having fun with it and sharing my creativity through fashion, and just see where it goes, whether this is just a hobby or it becomes a big success I’m happy either way!
