Meet Cristina Ochoa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cristina Ochoa.

Hi Cristina, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started this journey by simply sharing what it was like for me as a first-time rainbow mom. I honestly still can’t believe that sharing my thoughts and experiences have lead me to a whole career. Sharing the loss of my son at 5 months pregnant was really just me trying to cope with everything that was going on. I quickly saw how so many women were able to relate and were on the same boat. As my life has evolved so has my platform and now as a busy stay-at-home mom that is always on the hunt for a fun activity, my content has also become very much about that and all the things in between like potty training and becoming a soccer mom.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
When I began this journey as a mommy influencer, I had no idea what I was doing. I did however quickly learn that as a Latina in this space, we are not treated equally or compensated equally. I have been lucky to have found amazing women that had experience, so when I entered this space, and they mentored me and helped immensely. Early on I had a hard time valuing my work but now I understand that I must value my work not just for me but for other Latina creators and all future Latina creators.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a first-generation Latina mommy influencer that shares family-friendly events all around SoCal while sharing what it’s like ending generational trauma and practicing gentle parenting. You can find anything from the best children’s museums to the best local restaurants on my page with lots of relatable content about what it was like growing up in a typical Latino family and how I am changing that narrative. Over time I figured out that what sets me apart is being ME! Although I fall into the “mommy influencer” niche, I do not have an aesthetic for my page, my home, or my life. I am real and authentically me on my platform and my followers enjoy being part of this messy, chaotic, and fun journey.

Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Just like everything in life, I was able to create this platform with the help of my supportive and loving family. My children give me the daily drive to push myself and continue to create. My husband is not only my #1 fan, but he is the shoulder I lean on when things don’t work out and is always there to support me and all of my dreams.
