Today we’d like to introduce you to Cristopher Crozier.
Hi Cristopher, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Cristopher Crozier, a San Diego realtor that came from a small town in Long Island, New York far from the beautiful coast of Southern California. As an 80’s kid, I grew up instilled with a work ethic that has propelled me to the path I now lead.
My younger self would’ve never imagined being the luxury realtor I am today. Immediately after graduating high school I joined the US Navy, as my main focus was to explore new countries and far away places different from what I’ve always known as home. By traveling all over the world I experienced a multitude of cultures, people, and lifestyles, learning different ways to communicate and adapt. Additionally, I was first stationed at the Naval Training Center San Diego which is now Liberty Station. Later in my career, I returned as a fleet sailor stationed on a combatant ship at 32nd St. Naval Base San Diego. Realizing how beautiful San Diego truly is, I promised myself that I would some day return.
After serving for 10 years as a Fire Controlman, I took my skills and training to start my civilian life. Inside the next decade, I advanced both professionally and technically in the semi-conductor business. I got my first job as a final test technician at a capital equipment manufacturer in the great state of Massachusetts. After learning and mastering two systems I was laid off due to the semiconductor downturn. Quickly, I pivoted and joined a small start-up company where I enjoyed the diverse fields of expertise. In a short span, I took on increasing responsibility being promoted several times. Ultimately, we got absorbed by a mid-size company (FEI Company), but after a year’s time they abandoned the product line and I was laid off yet again. Fortunately, I saw the writing on the wall and I was already engaged in a new startup company. My last day was Friday, fortuitously allowing me to start full time at my new adventure the following Monday. What a whirlwind! As a founder at this new venture, I ran all of the manufacturing. One of my proudest moments was to be part of a team that created, designed, manufactured, Semi/CE certified, and shipped a new product within 6 months. Reflecting back now, wow that was exhausting! After relocating this business to San Diego, one year later I decided to move on. During this time, I made some friends in the real estate business through my car hobby and recognized their level of success. After careful consideration, I decided to begin my journey in real estate where I found the true challenge and joy of bringing all of my skills to bear. I was lucky enough to achieve home ownership in San Diego, and as a realtor I’m able to help others achieve the same dream.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Like all journeys, there were many obstacles in my pursuit of real estate. For one, I entered the business during the economic crash of 2008 as a loan officer. Loans weren’t available at the time, so I adapted and began selling homes. Starting out in Oceanside as a buyers agent, I learned of my affinity for data analysis and negotiation. In this small real estate office, I began with little to no training or guidance and had to struggle to get my footing. I did everything I could to generate business, such as cold calls, floor time, and networking. Nevertheless, I persisted and eventually became a top producing agent. With this level of success, I was ready to continue progressing. This drew me to the unique homes in luxury communities that I work in today. Although an exciting opportunity, breaking into the luxury market has distinct challenges that continuously call upon me to uphold a high level of excellence.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Selling real estate in Southern California has been quite a journey. I have always strived for excellence leading me to sell more and more sophisticated properties. Focusing on the luxury market in north county coastal communities of San Diego, I’m trusted to navigate many intricacies and obstacles. My skill of negotiation is one most important to this challenging market that requires a high level of instinct. Nevertheless, the thrill of problem solving and deal-making is my favorite aspect of the job.
Additionally, I utilize creativity as a realtor when I am helping clients position their property best on the market. This may involve anything from design implementation to specialized media coverage on social media, the local news, widespread streaming, and even cable television!
Furthermore, being passionate about architecture and design, I’m also drawn to tailoring, mechanical watches, classic cars, and all things exemplifying timeless craftsmanship. As a result of taking pride in my personal style, I have even had the privilege of hitting the runway as a model for my tailor!
Nevertheless, working in a market with my peers being respected professionals, I deeply value integrity, transparency and communication which profoundly resonates with my clientele. In real estate, there are always particular situations in which I utilize a culmination of my skills and core values to assist families in achieving their dream of owning San Diego real estate. I’m truly grateful for the gift of trust that I’m granted each time I receive a new client, and being the person to aid them in navigating a chapter of their life is what I am most proud of.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Of all the many lessons I’ve learned, the most paramount is to know your contracts, because being well prepared allows you to best navigate the ups and downs of the sale process.
