Thanks for sharing your story with us Cyndi. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I started my company eight years ago to address a need I saw in the restaurant and food service industry. Having worked in the industry for more than 15 years, I noticed that a lot of small to mid sized companies could not get the support they needed. They needed resources not just for “big ideas” but resources for rolling out those ideas and promotions in a turnkey way. I found almost immediate traction within this niche, and Darlington Marketing has grown and grown with a roster of amazing clients.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Being an entrepreneur is never a straight road from A to B! There are constant pivots, and the way you think your business will unfold is never quite like your original vision. My biggest challenges have come with figuring out staffing and how to grow quickly with having very little structure. But that’s also the exciting part about having your own company; if you don’t like change, you should reconsider that path.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Darlington Marketing – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.
We are known for being very hands-on and engaged with our clients. We have many clients, but we like to think that each one considers us part of their in-house team.
Our different clients have different needs – some need social media, and some have that function in-house. Some need design work, others don’t. So, we can scale up and down as needed in a very cost-effective way.
We specialize in the restaurant industry, so we understand the unique challenges that this segment faces. It’s not an easy space to succeed in and I’m proud that we have so many clients that have seen great success.
I’m most proud of the longtime clients that consider us true partners in making their small business successful. We feel we’ve made a big mark in our community by helping like-minded entrepreneurs achieve their dreams.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
We are definitely planning to grow so that we can take on larger clients. We also work really well with corporate marketing departments providing support to them in the field. So many companies are demanding more from their teams with fewer resources, so we can be a partner and resource to help them meet their goals.
