Today we’d like to introduce you to Davin Brown.
Davin, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As a San Diego local, I grew up around the Navy bases and choose to join when I was 17yo. A whole decade later I finally made it back home to California. As I transitioned out of the military, I naturally gravitated towards cinematography and design. My parents raised us on music and talent shows. Additionally, All of my siblings are artist in some way.
I graduated from Platt College San Diego with a focus in Graphic Design. Currently, I’m freelancing for local businesses and working full-time at Wildfire Contact helping with 2020 election and campaign production.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road hasn’t been smooth, I feel. Lol. But I love it. I believe the road less rocky doesn’t always build the best character, haha. My service in the military helped alot when it came to paving my own path. I think hard work just sucks! Honestly! But it’s essential. Defining. So buckle in and get it done. I consider myself an overly ambitious lazy person. I think my biggest huddle has been letting rational thinking overshoot creativity freedom. It’s all good though, I’m in repair. J.cole said it best “It’s beauty in the struggle”.
Untetherd Media – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Untetherd Media is a personal brand that focus on graphic design and cinema. Music and cinema art will always steal the show. That’s where our influences are conjured, lol… We focus on poster and album art. Other work to include:

Magazine Layout
Im really enjoying the opportunity I have now to design and build out voter registration for this 2020 election cycle. Plus, I get to work on really cool campaigns for inspiring Americans all over the U.S.
Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Nerve. I dare and aim to defy… not the rules or in an ignorant way, but I’ll always pick the road less traveled. I think that’s where more opportunities lay. “Have we tried this?” “What’s over there” “How can I improve?”. And of course, Mentorship and Followership, if that’s a word. I’ve had great leaders and mentors and I try to give what I learn. It’s a reinforcement in growth.
