Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniela Felder.
Hi Daniela, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start, maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers.
Annette and I created our brand in London in 2006 and we did the catwalk shows there for nearly ten years before we realized the impact that fashion has on the environment and that we essentially were contributing to this. we started to switch our entire business around and started implementing more responsible ways to run our business that are more aligned with the SDG17.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
There were definitely a lot of challenges, especially as we came from high-end fashion and the materials you could find 10 years ago, especially vegan leather alternatives, were barely existing. So, in the beginning, we did a lot of upcycling and made it our mission to find the newest biomaterial innovations and showcase what the future of fashion could look like.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My identical twin sister, Annette, and I, Daniela, have a responsible fashion brand called FELDER FELDER (our surname twice), where we create Ecouture (Eco- Couture) one-off designs on demand or for exhibitions and events. Apart from that, we organize Events with “Future Fashion Concepts” where we invite change makers and innovators in responsible design to showcase how the future of fashion could look like and to share insights to educate and elevate our audience.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
To stay calm in the midst of storm.
