So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Hey there!
I’m Darcie Fairchild, Creator and Designer of Juneau Luxe.
I’m a small-town Northern California girl, jewelry designer and entrepreneur with a big heart and big dreams. Most importantly, I am a Mama to 3 small children who are my absolute heart and soul! I would also consider myself a fashion, foodie, travel and accessory fanatic that is fueled by coffee and conversation.
Before starting a jewelry business, I was in Corporate America doing pharmaceutical sales and although this is what I thought I believed was my calling at the time, once I found myself shlepping the hallways of doctors offices, I realized that I was not at all being fulfilled and found that I wasn’t serving myself or other people in a way that I felt entirely empowered or inspired about. Seven years ago, when I had my first daughter Dylan, I made a big change in my life and found my true passion in helping people feel good about themselves in a fun and creative way.
The brand Juneau Luxe was born out of the desire to create handmade, one of a kind statement pieces using natural semi-precious gemstones. Each Juneau Luxe bracelet is custom-designed with a classic yet feminine edge and fun and flirtatious style. All of our bracelets are meant to be stacked up in a way that shows off your own personal style. With daytime pieces that can be worn out and about or dressed up for a date night or a girl’s night out, there is something for every occasion.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
There have definitely been multiple challenges and obstacles along the way, especially caring for three small children while trying to run a business and holding myself accountable to high standards of a quality handmade product produced in a timely manner and also have good customer service. There have of course been countless times over the years where things have fallen apart behind the scenes of the business where kids get sick or a product is stuck overseas and everything falls apart of comes to a halt, so sometimes you have to dig deep, put a smile on your face and just try your best to fulfill your business obligations, while still making being a Mommy priority number one. 🙂
The biggest lesson that I have found along the way are actually with winning over the customers that have had small issues or problems with an order. These customers have turned out to be the absolute best lesson (and most loyal) customers that I have had, because I had found a way to turn a missing package or late product or issue into a wonderful customer experience and have done my best to represent my brand (J.Lux) in a way that shows how important my customers are to my small business.
Without them, I wouldn’t have a business so realizing how important that is has been key. I have built so many great relationships by being genuine, transparent and honest about what to expect and people appreciate that. I also make every effort to turn a bad experience into a delightful one because that is what I would expect in return.
Staying current with styles, trends and the social media algorithm game has also been interesting along the way. As peoples styles and interests change you have to be able to pivot your business along with that.
Alright – so let’s talk business. What else should we know about your work?
Juneau Luxe (or J.Lux for short) is lifestyle brand of unique hand-made semi-precious gemstone bracelets for adults (Women and Men) and children.
We specialize in custom and wholesale orders for gifts (birthday, bridesmaid, girls trip, bachelorette), events (corporate, trade show), boutiques and everything in between
All of our bracelets are made with high-quality natural gemstone beads and gold filled and brass chain detail.
I am most proud of the product! and especially all of my return customers that have bought bracelets from me for the last seven years. These bracelets are a seriously addiction. I love it when we post a ‘Whats your Stack Wednesday” and feature photos of customers wearing their bracelet stack somewhere exotic on vacation or seeing someone’s personal collection (some of them are more impressive than mine!)
*My most recent launch of ‘J.Lux Stylists’ doing at home bracelet parties has been my biggest accomplishment as far as expanding the business internationally. I have had so many people reach out to me over the years begging me to come to their town to have a bracelet party or trunk show, so it was only natural that we take it to the next level and offer women the opportunity to do this as a side hustle or a passive income. Its been pretty incredible to watch and we now have 11 stylists that represent the Juneau Luxe brand in several US cities as well as one in the UK and AUS
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
The last slide highlights the most recent big change which is launching the direct selling market for J.Lux by bringing on ‘stylists’ to host parties in their area. We offer a generous income (20% of sales + free product) similar to a Stella and Dot type model. It has definitely been an incredible journey that has sort of evolved organically over the years.
Super thankful to all of my friends and family who kept supporting and encouraging me over the years when I felt like some of the challenges and obstacles were bigger than me. I encourage other women especially to listen to that little voice inside (especially when ofter times it is being overpowered by the bigger voice that tells you not to)
