Today we’d like to introduce you to Darren Machulsky.
Darren, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Started practicing architecture in 1998 in Princeton NJ, Worked on mostly high-end residential projects.
Relocated across the country to San Diego in early 2005. Most projects at that time were commercial so I had to learn an entirely new language in architecture. I’ve been expanding ever since. We now work on commercial and residential projects all across the country. I hold 20 architectural licensed in different states. I also hold a general contractors license in California.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Its been fairly smooth. Growth is always a challenge. At one point I had seven employees and managing that was difficult at times. For the past 8 years or so I’m back down to just myself and although the work hours are extensive, I prefer it this way.

Design and construction of commercial, mixed-use, residential, multi-family, and industrial projects nationwide. We have an extensive catalog of projects all over the country and are familiar with different challenges in different areas of the country.
