Today we’d like to introduce you to Denise Caro.
Hi Denise, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
After aesthetician school, I started working for Benefit at fashion valley mall for three years. As a single mom, I aspired to grow for my son and have a stable income for my family. I took the decision to start working from my parent’s garage, and after 6 months, I leaped to invest in a shed for my clients and placed it in the back of my parents’ house. I cared a lot about my clients; since they had to drive down to San Ysidro, I wanted to make their experience as nice as I could afford at that time.
During this time, I had fear and doubts as anybody can have during a transition period. My son is my biggest inspiration, and I knew one way or the other, I was going to become successful for him. Every day I would switch my mentality and be extremely positive. I was grateful for everything, even problems that arose. People that surrounded me, family, friends, and boyfriend at that time really believed in me and my work. The word was out there for Caro Brow Bar; I knew my dreams were just around the corner.
After working one year in the shed, my next big step was to lease an actual salon, make Caro Brow Bar a place. While hunting for spaces to rent, it was extremely difficult since I didn’t have credit. Until I met the owner of my previous space in San Ysidro, I told him my life story, what was going on, and what I was trying to achieve. He really listened and gave me the opportunity to start leasing the space. It was the happiest moment of my career. I knew this was really my chance to show everybody my work and what Caro Brow Bar is.
After I got this amazing opportunity, I knew I had to make it count, so I invested in social media to get my work out there and become known. My clients would refer me, and those new clients became loyal clients; it was so heartwarming seeing Caro Brow Bar be recommended. After 3 years of spectacular moments in the San Ysidro salon, the building was bought by a corporation, and unfortunately, I had to move. My search for a new salon was on again and landed in Otay Ranch.
Without my clients, I wouldn’t be where I am today, I’m extremely grateful for them, and I really want to say thank you for believing in me and supporting my dreams.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
With any career, obstacles come along, but with hard work, I can honestly say that nothing has been big enough for me not to tackle. I always saw the impossible, possible, and with my dedication for Caro Brow Bar, I’ve always found solutions to any type of situation.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Caro Brow Bar specializes in eyebrow waxing but more specifically in eyebrow reconstruction. We give previous waxed eyebrows a new desired look with our clients’ goals in mind. I truly listen to my clients on what they like, don’t like, or want their brows to look like and establish a plan for them. The progress is slow, takes time and discipline, but the outcome is so worth the wait. Clients get to love their eyebrows and take on the importance of maintenance and dedicating time for themselves.
What we are most proud brand-wise is our community. Of strong, powerful women and men that come to our salon, getting your eyebrows done is more than just a quick clean-up for us. At Caro Brow Bar, we co-create magnificent eyebrows with you to bring the best most comfortable version of yourself out. The moment we start your eyebrow journey our goal is for you to feel your best-empowered self as you leave our salon. Our community knows that, and we are proud to serve an amazing, strong, and loving clientele.
At Caro Brow Bar, the quality of our services is guaranteed; we absolutely love our work and community. We want our readers to know that we strive for your experience at Caro Brow Bar to be phenomenal and can’t wait for new CBB babes to meet at our location in Otay Ranch.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see Caro Brow Bar expanding into franchises and establishing a waxing school. With our eyebrow makeup line Caro Cosmetics, I see the brand going internationally. I really want to create a system to help women strive for their dreams and give them a piece of what I can offer to encourage them to not hold back and work for their dreams.
