Hi Diana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Back in 2002, I was working as a retail store manager. Although I loved what I did, I was feeling as if there was more to this sales position than just waiting for customers to come to me. I wanted to be proactive and actually be in a position to approach the buyers and sell the goods on a wholesale basis. I pitched the idea to the owner of the company and he allowed me to start our wholesale division. The very 1st item I sold was hats and apparel and I offered them to local shops. Over the next 17 years, I developed it into a multi-million-dollar business and our goods were shipped all over the world. In my Rep Academy Wholesale 101 class, I educate, inspire and inform CPG brands on how to start their wholesale business. I love what I do and I and my clients achieve great results.
We all face challenges but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Being in sales and pitching products to buyers is not as easy as a job. As a salesperson, you need to develop a thick skin and be OK with hearing “No” often. On my road to becoming a top producer in my company, I have relied on everything from self-help books to mentors and coaches as well as courses on sales and negotiations. They were all part of my journey and made me that much more successful. Although it was hard at times, I have learned from every situation and look forward to passing that knowledge on to my students.
