Today we’d like to introduce you to Diane Waggoner.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
When I was younger, my grandpa had a stroke and had to move into an assisted living facility. Neither my grandpa or grandma had the information or resources to make smart decisions about their health, finances or future. As a result, my grandma ended up losing their house.
Watching this as a teenager instilled in me a desire to help people in a way I wasn’t able to help my own grandparents. I dedicated my life to supporting as many people as I can to navigate this often complex phase of life. Each time I have a conversation with a new client and see the lightbulb go off above their head when they realize the possibilities available to them, I feel a deep sense of satisfaction.
I care about people and develop real relationships with all of my clients. I have their best interest at heart. I help them make informed, smart decisions for their health and future. I want to see them succeed. I believe I have the best job in the world.
Diane Waggoner, LUTCF, is the Owner and CEO of Relion Insurance Solutions. With over 19+ years experience in insurance (and 11 years specializing in Medicare), she helps people navigate the complex maze of Medicare options to find the best plan that works for them. Whether you meet with her at your kitchen table or over the phone, she will share her wealth of knowledge with you that’s already benefited, 2000+ happy clients.
Diane got her start working as an agent in an insurance company. In 2010 she went out on her own. Now she enjoys the freedom of owning her own business and being an Independent Insurance broker representing Medicare plans. Diane is licensed in 13 states and is appointed by dozens of different companies to represent their services. She represents most of the available plans on the market. This gives her the flexibility to provide her clients with an unbiased plan comparison so they can choose the right plan at the best price that fits their specific situation.
A San Diego native, Diane enjoys exploring the live music, new restaurants, plays and other events in town. After her journey with breast cancer this past year, she committed to having more fun in her life. While she is available to her clients to hold their hand before, during and after enrollment, she also spends as much time as possible with her three children and two grandsons. Her philosophy: life is short! Have fun, be of service, and above all else, be true to yourself.
Has it been a smooth road?
I was very lucky in finding a job I love and being really good at it. My road was fairly smooth but took hard work and focus to build the mostly referral business from the ground up. This is my 7th year in business but my 20th year of being an Insurance agent.
My daughter recently joined me and will be slowly building her network and referral group

My business is called Relion Insurance Solutions Inc. www.relioninsure.com. I assist individuals with their enrollment into Medicare and a Medicare Advantage or Supplement to cover the costs not covered with traditional Medicare.
I am an Independent agent that basically means I’m not tied to one particular company but can offer all the major plans out theirs. By listening to my clients and using my knowledge to assist them in finding the perfect plan for them I can save them hours of research and frustration. My services come at no cost to the individual as I get a commission from the company they select for coverage.
We offer help whether an individual enrolls with us or not. This is education and teaching not particularly sales. By offering this help I often get referrals from individuals that I helped but for whatever reason were unable to enroll with me. We are not pushy or try to rush people…we take the time to know the individual. I think that set us apart in what we do
Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I’m a native so I love San Diego, There is so much to do, see etc. I, however, try to avoid the high traffic times.
