Today we’d like to introduce you to Dino Angelo Luciano.
Chef, non-binary artist, visionary, mental health advocate, philanthropist, Dean Martin cover artist/hip hop writer, list never stops. Obsessed with the pursuit of perfection, Dino Angelo Luciano presents his heart on a plate. From a young age, Dino spent countless hours in the kitchen learning, or as his grandmother called it “training to feed a large Sicilian army”. This gave him the expertise to compete nationally, winning the title of MasterChef USA in 2017 as the first ever vegan chef. Driven by his dream of feeding the world, Dino has a determination and obsession to elevate his craft. From creating menus for restaurants around the world as a consultant, to his favorite passion of feeding the homeless, there’s a constant hunger & motivation for just pure life. He believes that collaboration is integral to his ultimate goal of sharing the love of cooking with everyone.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a tough life. The hardest realization for me & biggest stressor is never feeling like I’m doing enough for the starving people in the world. My biggest goal is to make all the money in the world, just to pass it back out to people who actually need it. That’s my struggle, knowing other people have money, & somehow there are people still starving.
The Gourmet Rabbit by Dino Angelo Luciano – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I specialize in gourmet. My main passion is private dinner parties, offering Michelin style menus in the comfort of people’s homes. I do love working with different restaurants to create menus & add a new perspective & flavor. I also love being able to create plant-based alternatives for restaurants lacking in vegan options. I’m mostly known for TV.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my life is creating a plant-based alternative for each of my Nonna’s Sicilian & Italian classics. My plant-based Bolognese, my post proudest moment. Also, being able to bring my mum onto her favorite cooking show, MasterChef, was a pretty damn good moment too.
