Dr. Gena, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Absolutely. My journey began with a deep fascination for the body’s innate ability to heal. Early on, I was drawn to Eastern medicine for its holistic approach—how it weaves together physical, emotional, and energetic well-being. That passion led me to earn my doctorate in acupuncture and Chinese medicine, and over the years, I’ve had the honor of helping hundreds of clients reconnect with their bodies, reduce stress, and feel radiant from the inside out.
Meridien was born from a desire to create something more elevated—an experience that feels both healing and luxurious. I envisioned a space where modern wellness meets timeless tradition, where every detail is intentional, and where women feel held, seen, and deeply restored. Today, Meridien isn’t just a clinic—it’s a sanctuary. And I’m so proud of how far it’s come.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all—it’s been a beautifully messy, deeply transformative journey. Like any path rooted in purpose, it came with its own set of growing pains. In the early days, I was wearing every hat: practitioner, receptionist, marketing director, cleaner—you name it. Building trust, refining my craft, and creating a space that felt truly aligned took time.
One of the biggest challenges was learning how to balance the art of healing with the demands of running a business. I had to learn when to push and when to soften. There were moments of doubt, burnout, and plenty of lessons around boundaries and self-worth. But every obstacle was a teacher. And ultimately, those challenges shaped Meridien into the intentional, heart-led space it is today.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my favorite childhood memories is growing up by a pond in Texas, surrounded by nature. I spent so much time outside—barefoot, sun-kissed, and completely in tune with the elements. That deep connection to the natural world really shaped the way I see healing and beauty today.
I also grew up taking trips to Mexico with my parents, and those experiences left such an imprint on me. The colors, the warmth, the textures, the traditions—it all felt so alive and soulful. Mexico continues to be a huge source of inspiration for me. I travel there often, and it’s become a place where I recharge, create, and stay connected to the essence of what I want Meridien to embody: something rooted, radiant, and culturally rich.
