Meet Dr Nikou Rahbar of Dentique San Diego

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Nikou Rahbar.

Dr. Nikou, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’ve been practicing dentistry for almost ten years. When I was working as an associate all these years, I was always thinking about what was missing in the offices where I worked. The number one challenge we face as dentists is that you have patients who don’t enjoy going to the dentist- they’re fearful.

I envisioned that one day when I would be able to build my own office, that it would be a sanctuary. It would be perfect and very welcoming; not threatening like a regular dental office can feel. I wanted to make sure every patient feels special like they’re not just another chart.

I was very deliberate and thoughtful as I built Dentique, taking my time to bring that vision to life. It took time to find the perfect building in the perfect location, paying incredible attention to detail in the design, layout, and colors of the office and to build the perfect team to slowly make this place into the sanctuary that it is today.

Has it been a smooth road?
On a personal level, the biggest challenge I faced was being a mom and balancing home life with work life. I’m a mother of two, and I’ve had this vision from years and years ago. But real life happens too- I got married, had two kids, and I took my time to build this business because I also wanted to be a good mom and be there for my kids in their younger years.

So while they were little and I was dreaming about Dentique, I was building it on the side, as a hobby. I was being a mother first. So in the evenings, I would be catching up on my continuing education courses, designing, finding pictures and colors and inspiration for the office. And now that the kids are a little bit older and in school I got to bring this to life and can focus more on the business.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Here at Dentique, we do everything from dental implants to wisdom teeth removal to braces and exams and cleanings… we do everything!

But my passion and expertise lies in cosmetics and giving people their confidence back. It breaks my heart to see that a lot of people are putting off their smiles because they’re fearful of going to the dentist. They want to have a beautiful smile, and they want to be more confident, but they’re just nervous about going to the dentist.

So Dentique is a place where we take away all those fears- our patients come in to get a massage, relax before their treatment, and are cared for like a VIP. All of our patients are like family members to us. We have a team of people who want to give the best service and make our patients comfortable.

Once we get to ease that fear, we can start working on perfecting your smile and getting your confidence back, whether it’s filling cavities that are causing you pain, treating infections or correcting broken teeth, discolored teeth or crowded teeth. Being able to care for people who were previously fearful of the dentist is a gift.

Our team all shares the same mentality: customer service comes first, and we want to give the best experience possible. We feel like when the patient is relaxed, then we get to do our job better and they get to feel better about coming to the dentist and not neglect their health.
