Today we’d like to introduce you to Eddie Gutierrez.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve always been a fan of how coffee smelled in the early morning back at home with my beloved mother and grandmother… Wasn’t a fan on the taste though due to having a bad cup of coffee early when I was in my teen years, but that smell and morning memories with family is what I enjoyed the most.
But things have changed throughout the years. Taste buds have developed and the taste of cold coffee was something I started to enjoy… That bitter and acidic taste still was an issue until I discovered cold brew coffee… As we ventured into making cold brew, we Also realized the health benefits not only in caffeine but in the process of making it. Keeping it clean and simple we decided to focus on organic single origin coffee beans to really taste the bold flavor and profile of each origin. We also decided on using Alkaline water to help balance your pH level in your body as well as reducing the acidity level even more than regular filtered water. I decided to start making coffee but keeping the focus on organic and healthier alternative coffee, rather than your traditional cup of joe.
I found a new passion aside my regular 9-5 job and dance career. This was something I felt I could do and enjoy it as much as my other two jobs.
Making cold brew coffee was a new adventure for myself and my business partner but we were so eager and ready to embark on his new journey to make consistent and quality cold brew coffee for the healthier conscience individual and greater masses eventually.
Joe in Bottle was established early 2015, with the idea of offering an organic handcrafted cold brew coffee as a healthier alternative to what consumers consume on a regular basis. With careful thought and quality creation, we make each batch fresh and brewed in alkaline water for a better tasting and satisfying result.
Now, you can find us at a few regular spots in San Diego! We have a set up every other Saturday at Culture Shock Dance Centre in old town, starting January 2018.
Jacobs Center off of Imperial Ave serves our Organic green tea to employee and customers that come by. “The Trails Eatery” restaurant serves our cold brew and is located in San Carlos by Cowels mountain. We also do personal deliveries throughout San Diego. And we do catering and corporate events nationwide. Also, be on the lookout for a few gyms and local food stores with our cold brew coffee around San Diego county real soon! Follow us for all the updates!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
