Today, we’d like to introduce you to Emily Green. Emily was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Elle Baca-Bourcier.
Hi Emily, we’re so thrilled to have you sharing your story with us today. Maybe we can kick things off by having you introduce yourself to our readers? We’d love to have you go into your story and how you got to where you are today.
I started my business, Sisters Pizza, in honor of my late sister, Kate. After she passed away unexpectedly in 2016 I realized that life is too short to wait to live my dream of owning a pizza parlor. I quit my career as a teacher and began opening the restaurant. Undertaking such a huge project in honor of my sister helped me channel all the nervous energy that came along with my grief. I’m so happy to have channeled that grief into a place that has become a community gathering space.
Please tell us more about your brand, Sister’s Pizza
Sisters Pizza is an east-coast style pizza parlor that has become a community gathering space. We celebrate inclusivity and diversity so organically, we became a spot for our community members to have meetings, host celebrations, share grief… much more than just grabbing a slice of pizza!
So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Elle Baca-Bourcier and She’s Nuts and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with She’s Nuts.
Elle and She’s Nuts has been a vendor at our Epicurean Market, an outdoor market on our patio started during Covid lockdown. I was impressed with the diversity of flavors, allergen awareness, and packaging! Elle always gifted me with different flavors so I’ve tried them and love them all on everything from celery to sandwiches to straight off a spoon!
