Today we’d like to introduce you to Eunique Deeann.
Eunique, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I’m a writer, photographer, artist and facilitator. I’ve collected experience across a multitude of industries. Literally, I’ve done a little of everything. When I first moved to Encinitas, I was building a trip + outdoor lifestyle brand, which was a beautiful, wild ride. Now I document + support the layers of life through my expressions and services of written and visual arts. What I have come to realize is I am most passionate about social justice and accessibility of knowledge, support, community, and connection. This is what my work is truly rooted in.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I don’t know if anyone can ever say a journey is smooth. But the bumps in the road are what makes the ride worthwhile. That’s where you really find yourself. Your truth. Your honesty. Your strengths. Your own personal purpose for it all.
We’d love to hear more about your work.
Not Without Dirt is an exploration of the layers of human connection through written + visual arts, intimacy facilitation + transformation through vulnerability. I work with clients one on one, as couples or families, and in small, facilitated circles. Through my work, I hold space for one to connect most deeply with themselves, uncover layers that are holding them back, and to ultimately become free to connect openly.
The services + projects support breaking down barriers of connection through intimately created art that empowers the storyteller + inspires those that receive it. I am currently studying Ayurveda, birth work, and somatic training so that I can merge my creative services with offers that help my clients live richer, fuller, and more open lives. This is a merge of art and documentation of everyday life. I walk with others as they transition through the layers and stages of life. I currently offer documentary and portrait photography services for personal or partner connection, maternity, birth and postpartum, facilitate connection circles and photography projects with groups.
I currently support birthing people through photography services and at the end of the summer, I will be Ayurvedic postpartum care. By the end of the year, I hope to also add doula care for birth and death as well as somatic healing options to the list. My creative services are unique as they are rooted in helping others reconnect to their own selves and explore their life more intimately and deeply as they find ways to heal, be nurtured, supported, transition, and release their own stories through creative expression. The clients who choose to truly work with me do so knowing that this is a space for people to find the answers to their own journey by really learning to deeper understand, see, and face all the parts of themselves. Photo-documentation is just one piece of the work.
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success is fluid. It moves with your perspective and opinions. And I think you define things in your life based on your community. I’m in this lifetime to leave each moment as richly as I can. And through the way I live, I hope that opens space for others to do the same in their own ways. That’s the truth of what actual success I need.
