Today we’d like to introduce you to Fabby Lopez
Hi Fabby, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I have always loved recording since I can remember. I had an old school $50 digital camera where I’d record my sister and I Miley Cyrus concerts and our Lana wedding music videos lol I started to post them on YouTube. Fast forward to my 20s I always wanting to record & inspire I become a content creator and social media marketer started getting noticed by big brands and began creating content for brands like Este Launder, Halara etc. then we got engaged and began creating content of all wedding planning and connecting with soon to be brides through social media. I quickly found out about wedding content creators and wished I would have hired one for our engagement. After yrs of wanting to start this business but letting imposter syndrome get the best of me, I finally felt the Holy Spirit tell me to just start! I started my business late September- beginning of October 2024 at the peak of wedding season (had no idea) and just bid on myself quickly got booked and closed out the year with over 10 weddings/ events in less than 3 months of launching 🥹
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
One of the biggest struggles is learning how to say no or not overwhelm myself. And to price myself to my value. At the beginning I was overwhelmed with the welcoming & support of this amazing wedding industry that I struggled to say no and quickly got overbooked. I was so happy and fulfilled because I found my calling and truly love what I do. But if I could go back I would not have overbooked myself. Another struggle was charging my worth. I thought since I was new into the industry I had to charge less to compete when in reality I had a lot of experience with marketing, sales, and creating and editing content that is why there was not much of a learning curve and I was able to quickly get so booked.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a wedding content creator, I specialize in capturing all the bts content of the bride & groom on their wedding day on my iPhone. We are known for delivering content in 24 hrs after their wedding day while they wait for traditional photography & videography galleries to be delivered in 4-6 weeks. What makes me different from most content creators is I offer documentary style for their recap of their wedding day similar to videographers and offer advanced add ons.
Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Networking has been vital to my success. I am so thankful and grateful for the welcome I have received from this community. I definitely recommend to start networking as soon as possible. At the end of the day we all work together to bring the bride & groom’s vision & once in a lifetime event come to life!
