Today we’d like to introduce you to Farah George.
Hi Farah, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My makeup journey started with a leap of faith. I took all of my savings and invested it into myself, enrolling in college and a cosmetology course because I knew beauty was more than just a passion for me, it was my calling. It wasn’t always easy, but I was determined to turn my love for makeup into a real career. Through long nights of studying, practicing on friends, and soaking up every bit of knowledge I could, I found my confidence and my craft. Today, I’m proud of how far I’ve come and even more excited about where I’m headed. This is just the beginning. I also have a degree in psychology.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. Like many others, I lost a lot during COVID, especially my makeup business, which I had been building with so much love and effort. Clients canceled, events were postponed, and everything just came to a sudden halt. It was a hard hit, both financially and emotionally. Now that things have opened back up, the competition is tougher than ever. There are so many talented artists out there, and it’s easy to feel overlooked at times. But I’ve learned to stay focused and stay in my own lane. I’m proud to say I didn’t give up. Alongside my makeup hustle, I work full-time as an ABA therapist using my college degree. Balancing both worlds isn’t easy, but I’m passionate about both, and that keeps me going. Every setback has only made me more determined to grow, evolve, and keep showing up for my dreams.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I specialize in just about every makeup look you can think of, from high-fashion editorial, special FX, red-carpet glam to bridal, and even male grooming. I’ve spent years refining my skills to make sure I can meet any client’s vision with precision, creativity, and professionalism. I also work exclusively with a luxury kit and follow strict sanitary practices, something that, unfortunately, not all artists prioritize. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but cleanliness in this industry is non-negotiable for me. My clients’ safety and skin health come first, always. What sets me apart is my ability to connect with people on a deeper level, which also ties into my other passion, working with special needs children. I use my psychology degree in my role as an ABA therapist, a field I’ve been deeply passionate about for years. Being able to make a positive impact both in and outside of the beauty world is something I’m incredibly proud of. Whether I’m helping someone feel their best on the outside or supporting their growth on the inside, everything I do is rooted in care, compassion, and a drive to make a difference.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
For me, success isn’t just about how many clients I have or how much money I make, it’s about impact and alignment. It’s being able to wake up every day and do what I love, whether that’s creating a flawless makeup look that makes someone feel confident, or helping a child make progress in therapy. Success is using my skills and passions to uplift others, while staying true to who I am.
It’s also about growth: personally and professionally. If I’m learning, evolving, and staying consistent through both the wins and the setbacks, then I know I’m on the right path. At the end of the day, success to me means living with purpose, resilience, and heart.
