Today we’d like to introduce you to Wanderpak.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
We are four siblings who grew up with a passion for travel, but also a strong dislike for packing – so we decided to do something about it!
As millennials, we want things done (and fast for that matter). My sister Karen had a business trip to Cuba and happened to get sick right before, and she still hadn’t made her rounds at Target or REI. The stress of shopping and packing for her trip before a deadline, while being sick, was nothing short of a nightmare.
Thus was born the idea behind Wanderpak – our goal is to make traveling easier and packing for a trip more affordable. Each sibling brings something different to the team, which makes working fun. Plus, we love discovering the world through travel!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
To say it has been a smooth road would be a lie. Wanderpak has grown through challenge and moments of success, and we are grateful for every hurdle as a new learning experience.
To begin, we launched an Indiegogo campaign that was very helpful and indicative our next move! However, it wasn’t as successful as we had hoped and it taught us a lot about launching a company.
We have also learned a lot more about our customers’ needs through trial and error. It has been a difficult, yet rewarding journey for us and we are excited to see where we can take Waterpark.

Wanderpak curates a box of travel essentials for your next adventure. Whether it’s backpacking or a relaxing vacation, we provide the proper accessories for your trip, delivered right to your doorstep.
Packing is a hassle, and running from store to store is stressful – Wanderpak eliminates those pre-trip blues and sets you off on your trip on the right foot.
Each Wanderpak contains 10-12 travel items specific to your destination & travel style to make for a comfortable travel experience so you can fully enjoy your travels. We also have a Build Your Own Box feature for those who want to customize their own park. Additionally, 2% of all our proceeds go to an environmental nonprofit.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
While we have learned many lessons along the way, we wouldn’t change anything.
One thing I would like to highlight is that there is no set formula for success. You can easily get caught up in people’s idea of one set track, but it doesn’t work like that. It took us a while to learn that social media isn’t everything for us, while it may be key for other businesses!
Another thing is that we are a unit of four siblings, and this has been such a bonding experience for us. We are grateful for every second of the ride.
