Today we’d like to introduce you to Frances.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve always had such great appreciation for food and wine. I love the aspect of how it brought people together and it was an experience you share with them. I’ve constantly had such a unique and fun experience. Also growing up in Tokyo, Hong Kong, London and Vancouver, I was able to grow my palate and enjoy cuisines from around the world.
This is what started my blog and Instagram, Food with Frances, where I would share my experience in restaurants, events, and wines.
Has it been a smooth road?
At first, I was not getting any responses from restaurants when I first reached out to them. I wasn’t getting any sort of traction but I kept writing and posting on my blog every day, sometimes three times a day. Finally, after a month, I was invited to my first restaurant TRUST, and it’s been uphill since.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Food with Frances story. Tell us more about the business.
Food with Frances is a food and wine blog that shares my favorites spots around San Diego, Los Angeles and San Francisco. I also decided to get the Wine & Spirit Education Trust 2 certification last year, which lead me to also include wine pairings and wine tips on my blog.
I am most proud of how much it has grown within a year and how I’ve gotten to meet some amazing chefs, business owners, and people. I’ve also been to experience some of the most unforgettable dinners and meet the best people. I think what sets me apart is that I’m willing to try anything, I am a lover of all foods.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Video has been huge the last few years, so I see this taking over in the influencer space. I can’t wait for the day where you can taste the food from an iPhone, haha.
