Meet Gabby Forlano

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabby Forlano.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Gabby. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I can remember as a child always having sports anxiety and being nervous to try out for teams just by overthinking. When I finally began playing with teams, my confidence came out and I felt like I had a place where I could be myself. Throughout grade school I played sports my teams became my family, the sports fields became my home. When I moved on to college I no longer had a team that I could attach myself to. With a completely new environment and new stresses, I was diagnosed with major depression and high anxiety disorders. At this time I was studying Kinesiology and my professors became huge support. I set up a plan and promised myself I would put myself first. I ate healthily, I exercised every day and I became myself again. I learned how important mental and physical health were early on and prioritize that throughout my daily habits.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not always been a smooth road, everyone has there personal trials they are going through and I have realized that through my clients, friends, and family. The best thing to do is to control your actions and emotions through hard times. I do believe struggles shape you as a person but you have to choose to learn and grow.

Please tell us about your business.
As a personal trainer, I specialize in functional strength and corrective exercise. What sets me apart from most personal trainers is that I focus on both the mind and body. Exercising consistently has amazing connections to a successful and happy life. I highly encourage my clients to identify and set short term and long term goals to feel the best they have ever felt. Goals that are set up as a plan creates change. Once we establish a plan we can now have fun! I educate my clients with the outcome that they can do this on their own and inspire others to live a better life. I pride my business on building relationships that grow into a healthy community. I truly want everyone to feel involved and supported throughout life, and that is transparent throughout my business.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
The proudest moment of my career thus far; and the most impactful is the moment when I decided I can run my own business. It is an amazing feeling when you believe in yourself and follows your dreams.
