Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabby.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Gabby. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
My story is quite short, actually. I had taken a digital photography class in high school and didn’t think much about it. It wasn’t until I had enlisted into the military back in 2013 that I started taking pictures and videos and then making them into short 15 sec clips on Instagram before they began to allowing one-minute videos. In 2019 I had gone to Australia and met a gentleman that was making amazing traveling and product videos with his drone and DSLR. He sat me down for a couple of hours and showed me as much as he could with filming and editing. Once I returned to the states, I decided that I would start taking filming more seriously and began making short little clips for Instagram and youtube.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wouldn’t say it’s been a smooth ride by any means. The more you learn, you begin to realize the less you know, and that’s definitely true with videography and photography. I don’t consider myself to be very creative, so I am always having to look around for ideas and do some research. I have great people that guide me along the way, such as my friend Sonny in Los Angeles, who I’m always hitting up for ideas and help.
Please tell us about Gabbby Productions.
So my business name is Gabbby Productions. My friends I work within the military call me Gabby, so I thought I should just go with Gabbby Productions. Like I said, I’m not very creative. I also don’t specialize in anything. I enjoy making videos for just about anything. I think each new style of video presents its challenges, and through encountering these new challenges, hopefully, I’ll become better. Last year I was lucky enough to make some product videos for Alive CBD, All Skill No Luck clothing, and Sergeant outdoors equipment, as well as some real estate and travel videos from when I went to Europe and South America. Something I’m most proud of is not getting discouraged to keep making videos since you see a lot of people out there with some amazing stuff and wonder if you’ll be able to be that good.
Do you look back particularly fondly on any memories from childhood?
I wouldn’t necessarily say I have one favorite memory, but quite a few that include baseball and my parent’s support when playing. I have a lot of great memories in the military, though.
