Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabrielle Forleo.
Hi Gabrielle, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m originally from Kansas City and moved to San Diego when I attended USD. I got my job working for Deepak Chopra and the Chopra Center when I replied to a blind craigslist listing 6 months after graduating when I was 22. I happened to be reading Deepak’s book The Spontaneous Fulfillment of Desire where he speaks to the power of intention and writing them down combined with meditation. I was doing that practice daily for months and literally ended up in an interview with him.
What can I say? This stuff works.
I worked for Deepak and The Chopra Center for 17 years as a lead yoga and meditation instructor. Alongside Deepak and so many other influential wisdom leaders, I was able to travel the world teaching and speaking at well over 300 retreats. I’m also the all-time leader in Sales for the Company and have helped create many successful email marketing campaigns and created my own onstage lecture that generated millions of dollars of sales for the company.
In my work now as an Intentional Business Coach for female entrepreneurs, I get to combine all of this rich experience in both sales and marketing with the world of mindset, meditation, and well-being and offer something that’s incredibly unique but most importantly really helpful for women who desire to make a lot more money but in a way that feels really good their nervous system and their bank accounts.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
In the work I’m doing today I’m known as ‘The Money Maven’ and have for more than a decade been in the top 1% of female earners in the US. I’m the primary breadwinner for our family and women feeling empowered to have financial autonomy is the core of the work I do. I also grew up with a single mom of two on the government-funded meal program who received a full scholarship to even attend a school like the University of San Diego. Having had very little to no more to be where I am today is something I don’t take for granted in the least.
I think the biggest struggle of working behind the scenes in Spirituality, wellness but also with celebrities and well-known personalities is its human nature to put them on a pedestal and think ‘well they for sure have it all figured out’ or think you know what someone’s going to be like just because their ted talk changed your life. It can be disenchanting but also incredibly liberating to see ‘behind the curtain’ so to speak and realize that that truly nobody is doing it perfectly. There’s freedom in knowing that at the end of the day, we are all human beings just trying to do our best.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I’m an intentional business mentor that helps women create the business and bank account they’ve always wanted for themselves but in a way that feels good to their nervous system. The foundation of what I offer is saying goodbye to the hustle-and-grind mentality so often paired with making large amounts of money and moving away from the traditional masculine approach to sales and marketing for more heart-centered entrepreneurs and businesses.
I help women create an unshakable foundation of money and business energetics which in my experience is the core of real success. My signature methods are simple, practical, and modern and when practiced regularly the result is a business and schedule that feels nourishing and even fun instead of something that feels so hard.
It’s not that you can’t make money from the hustle and grind – you absolutely can but there’s a cost and at some point, it’s generally your health, well-being, or sanity.
It’s simply not sustainable success. My 1-1 coaching, digital programs, group coaching programs, and masterminds are containers to reflect that there is a different way to the big money and success that doesn’t involve working harder or more. It requires the female entrepreneur to shift towards online offerings scaled mindfully, intentional, and soul-centered sales and messaging techniques but the result is actually having a bigger impact and bank account than ever but not having to feel exhausted while doing it.
