Meet Gabrielle Fox

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabrielle Fox.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Gabrielle. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
From a young age, I’ve always been an artist. Growing up, I used to draw, paint, dance and perform in theater groups. Art was my passion! I picked up a camera in college and I remember thinking how great it would be to do this for a living. I enrolled in photography classes and got a job 2nd shooting weddings. I also worked at a local photo lab. Then, in 2006, I opened my own photography business… I’ve loved my job ever since!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It took a little while to establish my business that is mostly referral based, but within the first few years, I was booking a lot of weddings. I have learned a lot about the business side of things through trial and error and also through continued education.

When it comes to photographing live events especially, I’ve gotta expect the unexpected and roll with what happens. Also, once I started doing family photography and got used to working with young kids, I’ve been able to use a lighthearted approach and make the best out of every situation. All the while getting great authentic photos of the whole family!

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Gabrielle Fox Photography – what should we know?
I specialize in relaxed Family portraits, Newborns, as well as Wedding & Event photography.

I have an easy-going style that meshes well with people and families. I’ve seen many trends come and go, but I strive to create clean & authentic images that stand the test of time. Most families come back year after year and some were even originally wedding clients! It’s so fun for me to get to be a part of life’s best moments…

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My very first photography mentor taught me a lot about the business of running a photography studio, and I’m super grateful for that. My parents and my husband have always championed me as an artist and supported my dreams to be an entrepreneur. And I thank my clients for trusting me and spreading the word about my small business!
