Today we’d like to introduce you to Geovana Perez.
Geovana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Geo’s Decor started two years ago when I was planning my daughter’s quinceñera, I always had a creative side but was unaware how to put it into practice but while planning the event I was able to discover my passion. Through this experience, my husband and I allowed ourselves to step out of our comfort zone and build our very first backdrop which jump-started our business.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
I’m very proud to say that the beginning of our journey was very challenging, we started this dream with NOTHING but with the desire to prosper and achieve bigger and better things. At the earliest stages of our journey, I felt like quitting many times, not only did we not have a lot of business but we also had no transportation, we all know that a business requires a lot of investment but in the beginning it feels almost impossible. After two years, I can say we still have our struggles but we love what we do and there’s no quitting now.
Geo’s Decor – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Our business specializes in party decor and rentals. But our number one seller are organic balloon garlands. My business is most credited from our balloon work. Balloons have been a blessing to our business they have opened many doors to grow our little business, I can say that that’s what I’m most proud of since I was self-taught by investing my time, product, and energy. Sometimes it feels like a dream, customers paying me to do what I love the MOST!
What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Now that I look back in my life, I realized that I wasted many years of my life working to make a living but not enjoying my work. Now that I have the privilege to work on what I love the most, I can say that I learned the real definition of success.
