Today we’d like to introduce you to Greg Cali.
Hi Greg, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve been using my imagination more than most since the day I arrived on this planet. I started taking pictures in junior high with disposable cameras and filming my friends on their skateboards and snowboards. It never really ended. I went to art school in Long Beach and got a degree in drawing and painting. I started shooting weddings in the LBC in 2007 and have been shooting them ever since. During my college years I created TheCaliLife!!! After graduating college I found a job as a sports photographer. A few years past and I went back home to San Diego and began working at a couple portrait studios. My website originally started as an art portfolio, displaying my drawings and paintings. It soon became my photography portfolio. I became a full-time photographer in 2010 and have created multiple businesses under The Cali Life brand. The Cali life Weddings, The Cali Life Photo & Video, and The Cali Life Gallery. These companies are an extension of who I am. My company that once was has grown well past myself. Now that I have a young family of 5 there’s all the reason to try and take our family business to highest of hight’s. My wife and I run the brand and manage a team of talented, photographers and videographers that assist me in producing the highest quality product for our clients. I myself am a full time dad and husband still working a bunch, trying to be selective about the jobs I take on. I’m also re-openning TheCaliLife Gallery that unfortunately burned down in 2019. We have plans for something beautiful!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I shoot photography and videography. Over the years I’ve developed a broad range of skills and cover multiple genres in the industry. Some would say I specialize in weddings and landscape photography but I feel like I specialize in being able to shoot everything I do at a high level. What sets me apart is I’m more interested in being creative than others and I work harder to learn the depths of the craft.
We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
We have a bearded dragon named rainbow that we love!
