Today we’d like to introduce you to Guillermo Escamilla.
Every artist has a unique story. Can you briefly walk us through yours?
Art has always been part of my life and it lets my imagination run wild. It’s a great way for me to express myself since I’m such a quiet person. Drawing and painting is how I got started and then it evolves into taking stills of people and beautiful landscapes. I’ve taken several classes where it’s gotten me to take risk and develop my own art technique.
Please tell us about your art.
I just like to create art with either a brush or a picture. My creativity can consist of portraits to landscape, you name it. I like to keep thing simplistic, yet with a meaningful story behind the image. My art started with a very moody and dark story; however, as the year have gone by my art has developed into a more vibrate and colorful imagery. I’m always trying to tell a story with each image with either a self-portrait or a very distinguish landscape. When people look at my art, I really just want them to tell me what they see and what they feel when they see the image.
Do you have any advice for other artists? Any lessons you wished you learned earlier?
Don’t let negativity comments stop you or demoralized you because there just words and not everyone will get what your try to show or say. Be yourself and create for yourself. Be an inspiration to all the new upcoming artists out there.
