Meet Helice Bridges of Blue Ribbons Worldwide

Today we’d like to introduce you to Helice Bridges.

Helice, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Mary,

I will forward my story in an email attachment

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
40 years a journey of obstacles and opportunities.

OBSTACLES:
Our Blue Ribbon Movie going viral on YouTube… millions of hits, paparazzi following me everywhere I went. No privacy. Not knowing how to set up a company, delegate. Schools were loving our hating our programs. When we had an amazing principal or superintendent behind our program… it was terrific until they suddenly were moved on to other schools or left. We had to start over hundreds of times to re-establish our relationships.

Too many people wanting love, and us not having enough systems and structures to support the need. Being invited to go on Good Morning America, but to overwhelmed with the demand following our Blue Ribbon Movie being #1 for 10 weeks on YouTube.

Not knowing how to set up a business, hire the right people. Schools and parents not ready for social-emotional learning. Teachers and school board mutining against our work.

Challenges… feeling overwhelmed. Not knowing how to market, sell products or raise money.

We’d love to hear more about what you do.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I may have waited, saved more money before I gave up my successful career. If I had known more, I would have gotten a successful mentor to work side-by-side with me so I wouldn’t have been so overwhelmed with the demand. I would not have started a nonprofit organization when I didn’t have a clue what I was doing.

What I have learned how to ask for help from people who are experts. I have learned how to have a clear mission. I have learned how to attract successful businesspeople to be on my Board of Directors. I have learned how to give up what does not work. When I asked a billionaire how I could hang out with people like him, his answer was in two words “Become one.”

When I asked how I could do this, he answered, “Make enough mistakes.” So “I have made millions of mistakes over these 40 years. It has taught me how to become an unconditionally loving human being, compassionate for others and how to live in the moment. For this reason, I am super fun and safe to be around.
