Today we’d like to introduce you to Maryam Habashi.
Maryam, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I was raised by a single mother who came to this country with two kids back in 1983 with an immigrant mentality in search for freedom, opportunity, and ultimately the “American Dream”! Without any financial support, she relied both on her book and street smarts for survival being an MBA graduate and a daughter of a successful business man prior to the change with the Islamic regime in IRAN; forcing thousands to flea the country. With only $500 in her pocket, for my brother and I at age eight and three, life had changed quickly forcing us to adapt to what had became our new normal. My mom’s first job was working minimum wage; double shift, where my two daily core responsibilities at that time was to take care of my younger brother and to excel in school. We lived in the ghetto part of LA, conditions not emotionally or financially suitable for the average child.
We grew up street smart, tough, independent, and learned how to survive by making the best out of any situation. My mom had quickly entered the accounting industry at the time, where years later had earned her roles as a controller and CFO for large fortune 500 companies; at a time where women rarely held such high powered professional roles. My brother and I observed the power of a strong work ethic, a winning mindset, and the determination to succeed! At age 15 both my brother and I began working and till today we have never slowed down or stopped our daily efforts to improve ourselves while impacting others. At age 23 I received my BS in Business Marketing and later a Masters in Education, representing Fortune 500 and 100 companies. Over sixteen years ago my mother made the decision to launch her own property management company, “AZARI Property Management”, which today is the #1 property management company today in the Bay Area! Within these past 16 years, she expanded to three additional companies such as real estate, construction, and staging where we are proud to say that she is a survivor….a self made millionaire with investments throughout the US.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing great comes easy! Having seen and gone through a lot of challenges in my life, I was always ready to take charge, speak first, challenge my opinions, and not stand down till I got what I wanted. Several decades ago I would have been described as a leader who came across as being; un-coachable, intimidating, controlling, not a good listener, an opportunist who lacked sympathy. At the same time I was also described as a leaders who worked hard, protected her team, had high expectations, created solid systems, executed with grit, and was respected by many. Being a top sales agent was easy for me, however leading people who were 100% commissioned with motivation, support, and politics was more challenging.
Another reason why I chose to launch INFUSE theory, knowing that all top sales associates get promoted to leadership roles or open their own shops too early, that just because you are a strong sales person it doesn’t mean that you are a strong leader. Throughout the past 20 years, I had to learn this in order to empower, retain, and lead; earning my seat for some might say, “an inspirational leader who impacted my professional life forever.” Thanks to my mentors and coaches out there who didn’t hold back by telling me what I needed versus what I wanted to hear! I wanted to get better but at the same time to remain myself and learning how to accomplish this is where I am today in my mid-forties. As a certified national DISC Coach, I learned how to understand myself and others more effectively knowing that everyone communicates however only a few connect!
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about INFUSE theory – what should we know?
Our program offers Sales, Leadership, and Pairing Sales and Leadership coaching programs. These programs are anywhere from 12-18 weeks. Our online coaching program is unique for it offers small group open forum coaching. Each program provides a customized workbook for self-accountability and self-reflection. Upon completion of our program a certificate of completion is earned. Each client joins a weekly implementation strategy call go over designated videos that were viewed and reflected. Tailoring these best practices to their customized industry, goals, and vision. We specialize in coaching realtors, insurance, financial, and small business owners throughout the U.S.
