Meet Isabella Patricio of The Brigadeiro Shop in Chula Vista

Today we’d like to introduce you to Isabella Patricio.

Isabella, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
The Brigadeiro is rooted in Brazilian culture, since the beginning of our lives. We are always accompanied by these delicious sweets. For every party, birthday, wedding, holiday and any family reunion or with friends, we always enjoy this unique and incredible treat. Since I was a teenager, I always used to do my own Brigadeiros, and everybody loved them and used to say “Oh, these are so delicious, you could open a Brigadeiro store someday.”

Now, since moving to San Diego for my husband’s work, it was finally time to pursue one of my dreams and start my own business.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think my first challenge was finding the right suppliers for my specific Branding products, and the license was a little bit hard to achieve.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about The Brigadeiro Shop – what should we know?
We make Brazilian sweets call Brigadeiros, they are made with condensed milk, cocoa powder, and butter, and with this base, we can make a lot of flavors.

I majored in Architecture in Brazil, and I’ve always been passionate on visual branding of products, so when I started to think about my own branding, I wanted to my branding and product really did some impact on the customers right on the sight, and for sure the delicious taste, so I think what sets me apart from the others are the amazing branding and delicious yummy taste.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
I’m a Brazilian woman trying to build a big company in the USA, so I need to be brave, persistent and doing everything with a lot of love.
