Today we’d like to introduce you to Jan Ryan.
Hi Jan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Started on real estate at 20 in Lake Tahoe and got my Brokers license at 24.
Started a brokerage with my husband in 1990 Ryan Gan Real Estate and bought a Remax franchise in 1996 in Ramona, San Diego area. Started a lending business, Direct Lending for construction loans with a partner who was an appraiser. Got approval for FHA loans and conventional lenders to branch out. Founded a Department of Corporations Escrow Company, Main Street Escrow.
In real estate did a lot of short sales to help clients and bank owned for many lenders including Back of America.
For recreation became an instrument rated pilot. Had an engine out over the ocean but landed at Monterey. My husband and I have flown to Mexico and cross country to New York a couple of times.
Passionate Skydiver and wingsuiter with over 700 jumps. I jump every Friday. Have jumped out of helicopters and hot air balloons and a DC9 commercial plane
Passionate about learning to surf. Also enjoy scuba diving and the iFly wind tunnel. Learning to fly head down.
Train with weights 3 times a week and hike Mount Woodson 2 times a week at sunrise.
TV Host for The American Dream T V. Two of my segments were picked up by the Travel channel.
Host for Discover Ramona podcast with over 51 episodes highlighting people, places and businesses that make Ramona special.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Financial struggles during real estate ups and downs. Would walk my Farm and look for pennies on the ground as a sign that everything will be OK if I keep working. Amazing how many pennies there are on the ground when you look.
The challenge of overcoming the fear of skydiving but became the best lessons in life for confidence and inspiration
