Meet Janice Bungert

Today we’d like to introduce you to Janice Bungert.

Hi Janice, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
By education, I am a Spanish instructor holding a B.A. in Spanish from UC Berkeley and an M.A in Education from San Francisco State University. During my maternity leave, a friend who is an event planner asked me to plan and execute a large non-profit fundraiser. The fundraiser developed and created generated more than $185,000 in revenue with only two hundred thirty-five guests present. My clients as well as every vendor who worked that event was so impressed that each person told me that I should really look into making event planning my career, and so I did.

Since then, my company, Won Love Events, has grown by doubling or tripling business each year since its inception. I owe the tremendous growth and success of Won Love Events, to our detailed process which allows us to create unforgettable and successful events for our clients. At Won Love Events we are committed to a concierge level of client services. Our clients know that they always come first. Whether you need help creating a corporate event that will have your boss singing your praises or whether you are celebrating a once-in-a-lifetime moment, Won Love Events thrives on creating, designing, and managing extraordinary events. Ultimately, we do the heavy lifting so that you and your guests are able to enjoy your event that will leave your guests talking for years to come.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Whenever something is worthwhile doing, there are definitely going to be obstacles. One of the greatest obstacles I have encountered is developing and growing a business during the pandemic. I firmly believe when life gives you lemons, you must make some amazing lemonade, which is exactly what I did.

When the events industry closed during the pandemic leading to no income/revenue, I pivoted to working with couples who wanted to get married. As we all know, love is never canceled, not even for a pandemic. As a result, I was extremely busy working throughout the entire pandemic planning weddings while keeping client/guest safety at the forefront of our process. I also became an ordained minister to better serve my clients who were in need of these services. Through overcoming obstacles, I have experienced with my own business; I am now able to coach and mentor other small business owners in their entrepreneurial journeys.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We love making our clients look like the rock stars they are by creating custom events that reflect their identity, vision, brand, and more. We are known for providing a concierge level of client services. Our clients and their events are always our top priority. We treat each occasion as if it were an event that we would personally host. We have exquisite taste and an incredible talent for understanding our client’s conceptual vision. We then take those dreams and turn them into unforgettable events and experiences for our clients and their VIPs.

At Won Love Events, we are most proud of the client feedback we have received which has led to earning various awards including:
