Today we’d like to introduce you to Jas Grover.
Jas, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Originally from Delhi, India, I moved to the States almost ten years ago when my Husband decided to come here for his Masters. Not sure if you know, but Indians are big foodies because all our lives we give a lot of importance to what we are going to eat next Ha! I am sure my fellow Indians can relate… I started sharing pictures of what I am eating on my personal page and it was so much so that my friends were like.. why don’t you try doing a Food Blog? And That was it!!!
I started my blog in April 2019 as a hobby and I am very proud of where I am today, I am very passionate about it and always give it my best no matter what. Having a full-time job and a 3-year-old is VERY demanding but my blog is a way I break the monotony in my life! I love to OWN it!
Has it been a smooth road?
Success never comes smooth and I still have a long road to go… I guess for me the real struggle has been to Balance my Family time with my “Blog time” in addition to my job, but I am glad I am able to give full justice to everything… so far so good!

So, I run a food blog on Instagram and my handle is Jas_thefoodie. I share my food and travel experiences there and help local businesses to get more footfall by giving them a shoutout on my page, I am proud of the fact that I am 100% authentic, I never post the food I don’t enjoy eating just for the sake of it because I believe my followers look up my page for genuinely great food options and I would hate to disappoint them.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I have lived in Chicago for almost five years before I moved to San Diego and ever since I came here, my definition of Great Mexican Food has changed forever. I believe San Diego is a great place to start a food blog like I did because its close-knit and has tons of good food options that most people aren’t even aware of. Especially with the amount of tourists we have here..a food blog is a great help to all of them to just pick and chose what they like and know what to expect of their order.
