Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmin Cruz.

Jasmin Cruz

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m a military spouse and in this lifestyle, it can be so hard to continue in the workforce without those gaps of employment due to deployments or military moves. I always wanted the stability of a company I could build tenure with or grow, and I found it harder and harder as my husband advanced in his career. These last 2 months were an eye-opener for me when I was laid off from my job after the promise of promotion for months after being there. I felt disposable, and I just did not want to keep feeling that way simply because I wouldn’t be in one area too long. After being laid off, I decided it was best to take my skills and motivation to the one place I knew it would be respected and taken seriously… FOR MYSELF. So, I started to reach out to fellow friends that had their own businesses and offered my services. Before I knew it, in those first 2 weeks, I had secured 7 clients and was really needing help. I thought this was amazing, and I couldn’t find it in myself to turn clients away. So, I decided to support these business owners by creating an agency. I hired some virtual assistants, and now we are Mission Virtual. We support business owners, big and small, to get their time back, become more efficient, and truly support them to grow and scale as much as possible.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Yes and no. It has been great to truly put my skills where I am now, seeing they are needed most. But it has been a true learning curve to become a business owner and to truly show why we are so important when business owners can be scared to seek help or raise their hands. We ultimately need to convince them that just because they are a business owner doesn’t mean they need to do it alone.

As you know, we’re big fans of Mission Virtual. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about the brand?
We are a virtual assistant agency, and we support professionals in creatives by supporting them with tasks from administrative, financial, project management, and even personal life. We truly want them and their business to succeed. We are their virtual besties ready to tackle their business with them. We are proud to be unique in branding, true to personality, and being laidback because why can’t business be fun?

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Don’t give up, and stay focused on your goals for the long-term business plan, not the short-term. When you truly put in the energy that you’re doing what you love because you love it and not for the money, then it will be so much easier to convince people why they should choose you. Don’t be afraid to ask for help.
