Meet Jasmine Borromeo of Jasmine Lozano Interiors in El Cajon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Borromeo.

Jasmine, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always been an artistic person and Interior design has given me a way to use that creativity to enhance other people’s living environments. I graduated from the Design Institute of San Diego and proceeded to work as a subcontractor for a few local design firms. My experience in these other design firms made me want to do something different with interior design. I built a company that creates unique environments with a focus on affordability.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Every project comes with its own set of challenges, but this also happens to be what makes each environment so unique and beautiful.

Recently I had a backyard project where I incorporated a stone pathway that resembled a river with Koi fish. I felt it would elevate the design to add a glow-in-the-dark element to the fish, and though it was no easy feat, my clients greatly appreciated the attention to detail. This project opened my eyes to how creative and hands-on my designs can get.

Please tell us about Jasmine Lozano Interiors.
As an interior designer, I create space plans that take advantage of the size of each home, and light up the rooms with the right color temperatures so that our clients feel comfortable. I create environments that take into account storage, growth, durability of furniture and fabrics, and unique color schemes and styles. I specialize in residential interior design, but also love working in the exterior design field, or “hardscaping”. In fact, clients who have seen my work continue to contact me for exterior design projects in addition to interior design. I am known for how affordable my company is, as well as the attention to detail in each unique space. I love having a hands-on approach to each project and I do my best to guide my clients in the right direction for their particular style and budget.

I am proud when I hear my clients talk about how their newly-designed space has benefitted their lives. For me, it’s most exciting to see the completed project that has been developed through collaboration with Phil Lozano Construction, my father’s construction company. My knack for attention to detail stems from watching my father work and seeing how meticulous he is on each project.

Jasmine Lozano Interiors is a family-oriented company that creates environments that take into account both my client’s style and budget. I have built up working relationships with installers and a trusted construction company to make the design process as smooth as possible for my clients. I want my company to change the way people see interior design. It should not be viewed as a luxury, but as a staple that can benefit everyone’s living situation, affordably. Interior design is so much more than buying the right decorations.

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
I’m just starting out with my company, having formed it in the spring of last year. Every day, I learn something new, and I am grateful for the opportunity to do what I love. I have goals earmarked for the future, but right now, I am happy to be working with enthusiastic clients and growing my business in this fantastic city!
