Today we’d like to introduce you to Jayci Gibbs.
Hi Jayci, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was a kid, sitting at the table with a can of Coca Cola in my hand, when I noticed something strange. Every time I drank Coke, it left me with a burning in my chest. One day I thought, why keep drinking something that makes me feel this way? I set it aside, and in that small moment, I unknowingly sparked a lifelong commitment to listening to my body.
Health and wellbeing have been important to me ever since, even though I was raised in a culture that didn’t value them the way I did. That quiet intuition grew stronger over time, eventually leading me to study public health. In school, I began to see the bigger picture. How our healthcare system is built to treat illness rather than prevent it, and how little funding and attention were directed toward keeping people well. I also saw firsthand how stress, poor nutrition, and lack of movement were taking a toll on the people I loved.
After graduating, I immersed myself in communities that valued wellness and made it my mission to learn as much as I could. I created programs in schools that introduced students and families to the joy of living healthier, more connected lives. But in 2019, when I lost my father to the effects of his own unhealthy habits, something shifted. His passing, combined with losing my job during the pandemic and letting go of a life that no longer served me, forced me to turn inward.
For years I had been pouring my energy into helping others heal, yet I was burnt out, stressed, and disconnected. I started going to a local yoga studio, where I finally slowed down and began the deep inner work I had avoided. That journey reconnected me to my own wisdom and to a community that held me up when I needed it most. Out of that healing, Connected Life was born.
Connected Life Health Coaching & Events offers professionals a chance to step away from the grind and focus on themselves. So many of the people I work with are quick to give their energy to others but struggle to give the same care to themselves. My work is helping them rediscover their joy, purpose, and power.
This journey has taught me that true health is more than habits, it’s about Connection. And I am deeply grateful to be doing the work I know I was put here to do.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Five years ago, I distinctly remember saying, “I could never see myself running a business.” Now, here I am, one year into running a business and I’ve learned so much. What I’ve realized is that my resistance back then wasn’t about business itself, but about the way I saw other people running theirs. The beauty is, I don’t have to do it their way. I get to run my business exactly how I want to run my business.
As a stress and burnout coach, the grind and hustle culture just don’t align with me. My moves are likely very different from other business owners because I want my energy to be sustainable. In the beginning, I definitely slipped into long hours and let self-care slide. But I quickly realized that wouldn’t work for me long term. As much as I encourage others to slow down and focus on themselves, I found that this was the ultimate challenge for me too.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I spoke at a health and wellness summit last month and invited the audience to pause for just 60 seconds of intentional breathing. Afterward, people told me it was the first time they had truly slowed down all day, some said all week. And this was a room full of health professionals. That moment reminded me why this work is so important: even the people committed to health struggle to slow down.
Connected Life is about helping women slow down and creating space to reconnect, with themselves and with their communities. I work with women who are tired of pushing through, tired of living in stress and burnout, and ready to reclaim their joy, purpose, and power.
Stress and burnout have a way of creeping into our lives until they feel normal. In America especially, we live in a culture obsessed with productivity and speed, but rarely with the care of the whole person. My practice is built on slowing down, creating balance, and helping women remember what truly matters to them.
As a health and wellness coach, I guide women through a powerful journey of self-discovery. Many of my clients are exceptional at making sure everyone else is cared for, family, friends, colleagues but they forget to care for themselves. I help them shift that pattern, learning how to pause, check in, and give themselves the same care they so easily give to others. At first, slowing down can feel uncomfortable in a society that rewards busyness. But it’s in those quiet moments that real healing and clarity begin.
What sets Connected Life apart is the emphasis on prevention. I don’t want women to wait until they have a breakdown or their health begins to fail. I teach them to take small, consistent steps, saying no to a packed calendar, taking tiny moments to breathe, and treating themselves with the same compassion they show others.
At Connected Life, I am proud to offer health coaching and wellness events that provide this opportunity. My mission is to prevent stress and burnout before they take over, and to give women the tools and support they need to live with more peace, balance, and connection.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I feel grateful to have been born into a healthy, able body and to carry a naturally positive outlook. Over the years, I’ve strengthened that mindset by practicing gratitude and focusing on the good in my life. I’ve faced challenges and lows, but the lessons and joy have always outweighed the difficulties.
